How to Launch a New Nearpod Code

When you launch your first code on nearpod.com, go back to My Library. Move your mouse over the Nearpod lesson you want to start. To get a new code, click the Teach mode.

If you already have an active code for that mode, you will see a message on the screen. To generate another code, click the blue Launch new button at the top.

Nearpod helps you keep your students excited and involved. You can add polls, collaboration boards, and game-based quizzes. Students can join and submit work from any tablet, phone, or computer.


Create Your Own Lesson

1. Start a new lesson

Click the blue Create button and select Lessons. You can upload your own content or make a lesson directly inside Nearpod.

2. Add content

Tap Add Slide. You can choose:

  • Video: Pick from Nearpod’s video library, YouTube, or upload your own. Tap +Add Activity to add questions anywhere in the video.

  • Slide: Add text, videos, images, or GIFs.

  • Web Content: Add a website students can visit during your lesson.

  • Nearpod 3D: Add interactive 3D models of places or people.

  • VR Field Trip: Add virtual trips that bring your lesson to life (with or without VR headsets).

3. Add interactive activities

Tap Add Slide and open the Activities tab. You can choose:

  • Time to Climb: A fun quiz game. You can create your own questions or use a ready-made template.

  • Flipgrid: Add a Flipgrid video you made earlier.

  • Draw It: Ask students to draw their answer. You can use templates or create your own question.

  • Collaborate Board: Let students post sticky notes with text or images on a shared board.

4. Save your lesson

You must save and exit the lesson before inviting students.


Upgrade Your Nearpod Account

When you upgrade, you get more storage, more student joins, and advanced lesson tools. Gold and Platinum plans are for individual teachers, while site licenses are for schools and districts.

How to upgrade:

  1. Go to nearpod.com/upgrade and choose the plan that works for you. Click the button under that plan.

  2. Enter your payment details and click Complete purchase.

  3. After the purchase, you’ll get an email with instructions on how to download your receipt.

Please note:

  • Nearpod does not accept POs for individual teacher plans. You must buy online.

  • For security reasons, upgrades cannot be completed over the phone.

  • Nearpod offers only annual subscription plans.

How to launch multiple Nearpod codes

After you launch your first code, go back to My Library and hover over the lesson you want.

Click the teaching mode again. If another code is already active, you will see a message. Click the blue Launch new button to create another code.

A new code appears. Share it with your students. Repeat these steps if you need more codes.
